General booking conditions

1. Scope

The present "general booking conditions" and are an integral part of the service agreement concluded between “Areias do Douro – Guest House”, a lodging establishment registered in the National Register of Local Accommodation with number 66824/AL, and the customer who subscribes to it, whose purpose is to provide tourist accommodation services.

2. Underage citizens

Reservations should only be made by citizens of legal age. (1)
We only accept hosting minors when accompanied by adults who hold parental or guardianship authority.

3. Prices

Accommodations are booked at the rates charged at the time of booking, subject to any promotions or discounts that may be in effect. Any subsequent price reduction that may occur does not entitle the guest to any price adjustment, refund or compensation.
After a reservation has been made, if the guest wishes to add additional nights to their stay, they must make a new reservation based on availability and current rates.

4. Acceptance and payment deadlines

When a customer requests a room reservation, the room is blocked from receiving reservations from other interested parties. For this reason, the customer is given a period of 1 hour to accept the reservation conditions, and 1 hour more to make and confirm payment, as stipulated in the reservation details.
It is very important that the customer sends us a message accepting the booking conditions and provides us with proof of payment, as if we do not receive the relevant information within the stipulated time limits, we will consider that the customer has cancelled the booking and we will release the room.
If the customer can prove payment before the room is booked by a third party, they may recover the booking. However, if the room has already been booked, only the amount paid will be refunded, with no right to any compensation for the loss of the booking.

5. Cancellation, no show, late arrival or early departure

Cancellation, no-show, late arrival or early departure from a stay booked by a customer for a specific date and period, does not entitle the customer to a refund of any amount paid as a deposit, advance or initial payment, except when explicitly provided for in the agreed rate conditions. (2)

Cancellation

For any fare, after the contractual information with the booking details has been sent, the customer has up to 2 hours to make the payment, and a further 2 hours to cancel the booking and be refunded any amount paid.

Non-refundable rate:

• there is no right to a refund of any amount paid.

Flexible rate - 14 days:

• more than 14 days before the start date, the full amount of the booking will be refunded;

• between 14 and 2 days before the start date, 50% of the booking amount will be refunded;

• on the day before or on the day of the start of the stay, there is no right to a refund of any amount paid.

No-show

There is no refund of any amount paid.

Late arrival or early departure

Late arrival or early departure are considered as cancellation of part of the stay, and no refund of any amount paid will be given.

We recommend that you take out travel insurance that includes ‘cancellation and interruption’.

6. Payment methods

During your stay we only accept payments in Euros (€), which can be in cash or transfers with MBWay. We do not accept other forms of payment.

7. Tourist tax

No tourist fees are charged.

8. Check in

In compliance with the provisions of the "Legal regime for entry, stay, departure and removal of foreigners from the national territory" (3), at the time of check in foreign citizens must provide their identification data to fill out the "Accommodation Bulletin". Failure to submit the necessary data will lead to refusal of admission.
National citizens must provide their citizen identification data.

Schedule: 

• 15:00 to 22:00 - free

• 22:00 to 00:00 - 10€ for each hour delay

After 00:00 we do not check in and we consider that there has been a “no show”.

You should schedule with us the time of your arrival, and phone us as soon as you arrive.

If the customer arrives with more people than those indicated in the reservation, entry may be refused, without the right to any refund or compensation.

9. Check-out

Schedule:

• until 12:00

Upon check-out, the guest may have to compensate the owner for any and all damages for which he is responsible.

10. No smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside the property. (4)

11. Image and sound capture

Since "Areias do Douro - Guest House" is a private property with restricted access, in order to guarantee the privacy and security of the space and of all those who use it, it is forbidden to capture, by any means, images (photography and video ) and sound within the space of the property, whether indoors or outdoors, without the express authorization of the respective owners or managers.

12. Pets

Pets are not allowed, except guide or assistance dogs.

13. Visitors

It is not allowed to enter and/or stay in the accommodation of people who are not part of the guest list and who have not checked in.
Violation of this rule, by any guest,  implies the immediate termination of the stay of all guests of the same reservation and consequent immediate abandonment of the accommodation, without the right to any refund of amounts paid or compensation.

14. Validity

Reservations made on a given date are subject to the "General booking conditions" in force on that same date.
"General booking conditions" prior to that currently in force, remain in force for reservations made when it is in force.
The "General booking conditions" in force on a given date will be the one that is available on our website on that same date.
